Moon 3D Space Tour 1.1

Since the Moon 3D Space Tour download weighs in at a mere 1.7MB, getting the application off the web and onto your Windows-powered computer will only take a moment. It can’t take long for a 1.7MB download to complete, not even if you have to contend with a lousy internet connection.

Once the download is out of the way, it is time to install the application on your Windows-powered computer. This is a simple, straightforward process that should complete in very little time as well. All you have to do is launch the executable file you downloaded and then follow the instructions presented by the setup wizard; you will be done before you know it.

I installed the screensaver on a Windows XP and on a Windows 7 powered PC and it worked fine with both versions of the Microsoft-developed operating system. Speaking of working, what is Moon 3D Space Tour and what does it do? This application is nothing more than a screensaver. When your computer goes idle, this screensaver kicks in and displays a photo-realistic and astronomically accurate 3D animation of the Moon as viewed from outer space.

You can pretend you are an astronaut in orbit around the moon, checking out the Earth’s only natural satellite. You will see the moon as it really is, with its craters and mountains; you can even see the dark side of the moon, the part that is not visible from earth.

Please note that Moon 3D Space Tour is not freeware, it is only free to try. In the unregistered version a floating window that tells you to register the screensaver appears and, well, floats around. It is truly annoying. What’s more annoying is that at close to $15, the registration fee isn’t exactly cheap.
